In Squidoo, pages are referred to as lenses, which can cover virtually any topic under the sun. Lenses carry content, articles, recommendations, and links to websites.
Because of how Squidoo is designed, it’s easy to see how you can generate traffic and earn money from your lenses. Here are seven ways to generate traffic with Squidoo:
1. Be a bit controversial without being notorious. You can do this by joining the forums and giving a non-mainstream opinion on a subject. You can also add statements in your lenses that can make people curious and interested.
2. Make deals with other lens owners. If you can find other users who are interested in getting more traffic to their own lenses, and in some cases, sites, make a proposal to link to each other’s lenses and sites. The more your site’s link appears in lenses, the more chances it has to be viewed by a great number of people.
3. Create a signature statement. Include in your lens a catchy and unique statement. If you meet both requirements, people will easily remember your lens. It also makes your lens more searchable because it is recallable.
4. Make your lenses interesting. Fill them with exciting and informative content. Build your reputation by providing content that exhibits your expertise. In short, make a lens that is worth reading and sharing with other people.
5. Join affiliate programs. Once you established solid traffic to your lenses, you can add affiliate banners and links. You can earn money from clicks your visitors make, or from the number of times certain ads appear on your screen.
6. Join Google Adsense as well. Of all ways to earn money from a website, Google is one of the most popular, if not popular, and that is for a reason—Google pays really well.
7. Make as many lenses with different topics as you can. The more subjects you cover, the wider your audience will be. That means more chances for you to gain a larger following. which leads to greater profit.
