The word “Art” can mean almost anything just as long as there is an intention to create by the author. It can take the shape of regal and wonderful marble sculptures, such made by Michelangelo, Bernini and other greats. It can be framed paintings done by famous artists like Da Vinci, Van Gogh, and more. Art can even take a modern shape, like the enormous sculptures by the contemporary artist Jeff Koons; or art can take a simpler form: your kids drawings from school stuck to the refrigerator door, a paint job on a car, a doodle on the edge of a notebook, even most jewelry, music and films are considered as Art. So, as mentioned in the beginning: the word “Art” can mean almost anything.
If you are looking for art online, it is best not to expect works from great, world famous artists on display and on sale for a few dollars. Those pieces may be better fitted in a place like Sotheby’s. On the internet shopping market what you find most of the time is a collection of art done by lesser known artist. You may even be able to find a few replications, like a replication of the Van Gogh Classic Pool House at Arles that sells for 0.99$. None the less, art (no matter how non remarkable, un-famous, un-infamous or unpopular it may be) is art. It will always be a form that will be able to communicate through language and race.

Replication - there is a wide market for replicated pieces. Replication manufactures print out everything from classic works to contemporary articles. Most of the time, replication comes in the form of paintings; sometimes it may be copies of items and antiques.
Posters- this category may hold both contemporary and vintage works. Contemporary Posters can be promotional movie and concert posters; they can also be in the form of travel posters that showcase a certain location. Vintage ones are pretty much of the same topics, but they were made a certain time ago.
Figurines - you will be able to find a lot of this online, it is important to remember that when buying figurines the state of the product must be taken into consideration.
Paintings and various works of lesser known artists - this category takes up a huge percentage of the art found in these websites. They may be paintings on canvas, sculptures or photographs.
